Mental health disorders are complex and require a personalized approach to care. Most of our residents at The Retreat experience more than one disorder (co-occurring disorders), which may lead to addictions. At The Retreat, we have the resources and expertise to provide the highest level of care for people with co-occurring disorders.
We provide evidence-based mind and body therapy in the most individualized, compassionate, and comprehensive way possible. Our residents have frequent access to experienced psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. You or your loved one will have every opportunity to heal and lead a happier, more productive life.
All residents at The Retreat receive the following core services:
Diagnosis and consultation: In addition to a comprehensive mental health evaluation, all residents receive a diagnosis and psychiatric consultation during their stay
Treatment: Individualized treatment plans, including multiple hours with your treating doctor and/or specialized clinician each week
Individual therapy: Dedicated time with your primary doctor/clinician each week in addition to several hours of individual therapy each week with clinicians including a family therapist, art therapist, social worker, movement therapist, and wellness coordinator.
Group therapy: up to 35 hours of group programming each week, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for OCD and anxiety, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and activity therapy, such as rock climbing, yoga, art therapy, and equine-assisted therapy; all groups are led by either a doctor or a highly trained clinician.
Continuing care: Potential access to your doctor-led treatment team after you leave The Retreat, for those staying at one of our group homes, Ruxton House and Magnolia House, or who remain in the Baltimore area
