There are two ways that individuals can be admitted to JGPH voluntarily. Please note that all patients must be medically stable, and must have been evaluated by a mental health clinician within 24 hours of the proposed admission.
Routes to voluntary admission at JGPH:
- By hospital/ER: Many patients come to us through a hospital ER. If you or a loved one is experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please go to your nearest ER. The team there will refer you to the appropriate treatment facility.
- By Psychiatric Urgent Care: You can come to Psychiatric Urgent Care on our Towson or Baltimore/Washington campus for a walk-in, unscheduled evaluation.
